Mawa Cake

Super soft, delicious, rich -eggless Mawa Cake


  1. ½ cup unsalted butter
  2. 1 cup Mawa (Khoya -i used readymade)
  3. 2 cups flour (Maida)
  4. 1½  cup powdered sugar
  5. ½ cup curd
  6. 1 tsp baking powder
  7. pinch of salt
  8.  ½ cup milk
  9. almonds for garnishing
    1. Cream together butter, powdered sugar & mawa and beat well until creamy.
    2. In a bowl mix together the dry ingredients (flour & baking powder)
    3. Add curd to the butter mixture and cream together.
    4. add milk and mix until incorporated.
    5. Add the flour mixture and gently fold in until all the flour is incorporated.
    6.  Preheat oven to 180C.
    7. Grease and dust an 8" round pan. 
    8. Pour the prepared batter into the pan, decorate it with almonds.
    9. Bake in oven for 1 hour. When a tooth pick comes out clean, remove from oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
    10. Flip the cake on to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.
    11. Slice it up and enjoy
